HOLLYWOOD(Perfect Skin Today)9/16/13/–That is a very good question and is probably quite true, and unless you try them for yourself for an extended period of time then I guess there is no way to really find out.
My research came up with a couple of companies pushing this angle, though I believe the competition is quite intense.. First up is BARLEAN’S, based in Ferndale in Washington State, and one of their major sellers is Wild & Whole Alaskan Salmon Oil which contains 500 mcg of super Antioxidant Astaxanthin in each pill. The pill also contains nature’s balance of Omegas 3,5,6,7,8 and 9 along with 1,000 IU of Vitamin E.
The salmon are caught wild with all the benefits of unrefined salmon oil with minimal processing only used to remove arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury.
Other ingredients inn the pills that come in a 90 and 180 count size are rosemary extract, d-alpha tocopherol, sunflower lethicin, ascorbic acid, citric acid, oregano extract and parsley oil. Take 3 pills daily with a meal.
Beautiful skin requires the required amount of chemical messengers called prostaglandins. They do not exist in the body but must be synthesized from external fatty acids (EFAs) taken in from your diet. The key here is the Omega 6 fat called gammalinolenic acid (GLA), which is also evening primrose oil.
If the body is lacking GLA it is forced to find it from the liver, and then depends on the blood to transport it to the skin. Significant research in Scandinavia has proved that the combination of flax and primrose oil significantly reduce skin inflammation, hence the obvious advantages of taking pills like these above.
Another company with a real catchy name is the Santa Barbara based POTENT SEA that have currently three products on the market, Sockeye Omegas, Marine Amminos and Sea Vegetables. Founder Chris Goldblatt is also the creator of the Fish Reef Project, and is focused on creating a network of five acre fish reefs in order to increase marine life.
The advantages to the skin from the Sockeye Omega’s have been documented above, but additional benefits include the cardiovascular system, mood improvement and joint health. I loved the bright orange color of these pills in particular which comes from the Astaxanthin.
The Marine Aminos are an interesting one, and aside from helping skin and nails, they are also supposed to help with sexual drive, energy levels, muscle tone and to sharpen the mental process. These pills are extracted from the meat of marine mollusks like whelk, conchs and murex.
The Sea Vegetables mainly provide Thyroid support along with mental health, weight Issues, better hair, skin and nails. They are harvested from sun dryed sea plants and provide a variety of trace minerals needed for better overall health. They are certified organic and have a very high percentage of Iodine.
