WONDER CREAM IS STAR OF THE SHOW

HOLLYWOOD(Perfect Skin Today)11/21/14/–Amarte is a company fronted by Dr.Craig Kaffert which is based on eastern skin care philosophy and western dermatology techniques. In many ways, Korea is ahead of all countries in skin care advance, and this is where Amarte was launched in 2001, and only recently introduced to the crowded and competitive USA skin care market. He earned his dermatology degree at the University of Miami and he now practices as Redding Derm in Shasta County in Northern California. He sees patients five days a week and considers himself a “Renaissance dermatologist” constantly striving for excellence and not just shoving creams and pills at patients with real problems. He knows that skin issues can drive you crazy and his practice also specializes in dermatopathology and micrographic (Mohs) surgery.

Star of the show for Amarte is their Wonder Cream ($97) which is Korean influenced of course and geared to diminish freckles and sun spots and reduce lines and wrinkles. At PST we love analyzing the ingredients in these new and exciting skin care lines and in this case we have key ones of pearl powder, caviar extract, mushroom emollient, nano-encapsulated retinol 1%, biopeptide SC, sulfur, propolis and mastic oil.

Mushroom emollient is the interesting one here as it enhances immunity and shields the skin from environmental toxins, irritation, UV damage and inflammatory concerns. The microscopic sulfur calms, heals, brightens and exfoliates and possibly decreases sebum production. Caviar extract delivers a bunch of unsaturated fatty extracts along with vitamins and minerals, and the pearl powder gives the skin a sheen as well as infusing the skin with minerals and amino acids. Use small quantities of this cream morning and night and also when you feel your skin needs a refresher.

Before you use the cream, you can use the Wonder Cleansing Foam ($40) which is geared towards oily and acne prone skins. Stand out ingredients include the microscopic sulfur described above, Aliatonin, Betaine, Lavender and Chamomile. The latter two soothe, rejuvenate and refresh the skin, Aliatonin protects against the sun and wind, and Betaine which is derived from beets reduces stickiness and builds viscosity.

The Aqua Veil Hydrator ($65) is a cucumber-infused serum that releases droplets of pure water onto the skin to form a protective veil. It includes orchid, lily, elderberry, English ivy, sunflower, pellitory-of-the-wall and of course the ever present elemental sulfur.

Sunscreen protection comes with the Amarte Ultra Veil ($45) with an SPF of 50 which is water resistant for forty minutes. The active ingredients are octyl methoxylcinnamate (7%), titanium dioxide (5.4%), octal salicylate (5%) and zinc oxide (3%).
