Hollywood,CA(Hollywood Today)3/25/12/—Exuviance has been created by two doctors, Dr.Eugene Van Scott and Dermatologist Dr.Ruey J.Yu and their credentials are impressive. Van Scott has been named Master of Dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology and he has also received the Albert Lasker Award. He was also the former professor of Dermatology at Temple University.
Dr Yu was assistant professor at Temple, presumably the same time as Dr.Van Scott and was awarded the first gold medal by the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology. Clearly they both know their stuff, and Exuviance is the result of all their knowledge.
Their research led them to the conclusion that Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are not only beneficial in the treatment of dermatological conditions, but also help stimulate damaged skin to rejuvenate itself. They also discovered a new generation of Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs) and Bionics, compounds that deliver deep anti-aging benefits without the irritation and redness.
Getting into more details about the ingredients seems appropriate in reviewing a brand of skincare that relies heavily on medical know-how. In the AHA category, prime movers are Glycolic Acid and Mandelic Acid. Glycolic Acid is found in sugar cane and Dr.Van Scott takes credit for discovering its anti-aging benefits.
It has quick absorption into the skin and exfoliates and normalizes cell turnover to clarify pores, refine skin texture and break up dark pigmentation spots.
Mandelic Acid comes from almonds and is perfect for oily, acne-prone skin. It also has antibacterial properties, and does not have the stinging and drying that you can get with specialized acne medications.
Moving on to the PHA category, Gluconolactone helps particularly with rosacea-prone skin and around the delicate eye area. It is also a very stable anti-oxidant which inhibits elastase, and helps to preserve skin’s elasticity. Finally in the world of Bionics, Exuviance products feature Lactobionic Acid which is derived from milk sugar and Maltobionic Acid derived from malt-sugar.
The Princeton based company has an impressive catalogue of products, but the two I have been able to check out are the Ultra-Restorative Crème and the Evening Restorative Complex. You should see results within 4 weeks of usage with one to be used in the daytime and the other before you go to sleep.
