Celebration at SPA VEA Newport Beach

Cabanas and umbrellas by the pool at Vea Newport Beach

Recently, I had the opportunity to relax at SPA VEA Newport Beach, a seaside retreat belonging to the Marriott Signature collection.

Just a short walk from the luxury shops of Fashion Island and the stunning Pacific Ocean, the moment I entered the 14,000-square-foot SPA VEA sanctuary, I sensed it was a place dedicated to pure relaxation and renewal. I spoke with Spa Director Michael Jastrzebski to get the inside scoop on what makes SPA VEA so unique.

Michael Jastrzebski of Vea Newport Beach

Michael explained that their “artisan massage” is a standout feature. The therapist customizes each treatment, incorporating elements like warm or cool hot stones, trigger point therapy, and rose quartz tools. These techniques help stimulate lymphatic drainage, reduce puffiness, and enhance a healthy glow. It’s a personalized experience designed to either deeply relax tense muscles or simply provide a calming escape.

For February, they are offering several spa packages. I tried their Self-Love Package, which combines a Rose Quartz Facial with a full-body massage called “Love Within.” The facial was a treat—Osea skincare products paired with Dr. Dennis Gross serums, along with gentle lymphatic drainage using rose quartz tools that left my skin feeling fresh and radiant. The massage was equally soothing, infused with calming rose essential oil, and included an invigorating Osea foot scrub with salt to awaken the senses. It’s an ideal treatment for winter skin that needs some extra care.

The SPA VEA features serene amenities that enhance the relaxation experience. One of the most tranquil spots is the private outdoor saltwater pool—heated and tucked away in a peaceful corner, perfect for unwinding post-treatment. I also enjoyed the eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, and a cold plunge footbath, great for grounding and contrast therapy. The overall atmosphere encourages disconnecting and savoring the moment.

The staff truly stand out—friendly, highly skilled, and attentive, creating a sense of trust and comfort. While most guests are women, the space is welcoming and private for everyone. Couples can indulge in side-by-side massages in a cozy room, then relax together by the saltwater pool, sip champagne, order lunch, or rent a private cabana. It’s a place that makes you feel genuinely cared for.

Dining options at SPA VEA are also delightful. I enjoyed their sushi at VIEW, which offers ocean vistas, along with dishes like Chilean seabass, roasted Brussels Sprouts, and rich chocolate desserts. Their chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne are perfect for celebrating. Special Valentine’s dinner packages include champagne and chocolates—ideal for sharing with a partner or treating yourself.

Overall, my experience at SPA VEA Newport Beach was unforgettable. It’s an ideal spot to unwind, indulge, and leave feeling rejuvenated—whether you’re solo, celebrating, romantic, or simply pampering yourself. They offer packages that include champagne, strawberries, and breakfast daily. Their signature dinner at VIEW features a three-course menu with Chilean Seabass, Filet Mignon, Champagne, and ocean views.

For February, VEA also offers wellness packages such as the Self-Love massage and facial, as well as the Couple Lovers Sanctuary, all designed for a luxurious spa escape. You can find more details through their links.

The experience extends beyond treatments—special Valentine’s Day offerings include a Weber Ranch Vodka collaboration, a Queen of Hearts cocktail, complimentary vodka tastings, and a flower bouquet bar where guests can create their own arrangements. It’s a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence, making SPA VEA Newport Beach a truly special getaway spa.

SPA VEA Newport Beach redefines the coastal spa experience with elevated touches—from secluded poolside cabanas to candlelit dinners at VIEW, craft cocktails at EDGE BAR, and indulgent couple’s massages at SPA VEA.
