HOLLYWOOD(Perfect Skin Today)10/18/13/–This is a company whose products use as many organics as possible in the marriage of nature and science, and this has given them a celebrity following with the likes of Carmen Electra, Jillian Michaels, Tori Spelling and Lisa Vanderpump.

As far as I can tell there is no actual Michael Todd behind the line, the real one was a famous producer involved with Elizabeth Taylor, who died in a plane crash in the fifties. The man actually behind the brand is Lewis Hendler, founder of Scunci International, a well known hair accessories company. His research discovered that many skin care companies that call themselves natural or organic actually include products such as parabens, sulfates and petrochemicals. He spent a year putting his line together and the result is a group of products that deserve closer attention.

One just example of such a product is the ‘Avocado Mango Mask’ which unclogs pores and reduces bacteria. Priced at $34, the Mango butter which is rich in Vitamin C unites with organic seaweed to moisturize dry devitalized skin. Also in the mix are Brazilian fruit butter, shea butter, and Salicyclic Acid which exfoliates dead skin cells to provide a fresh glowing complexion. This mask can be used twice a week and early results from our interns have been positive.

The ‘Charcoal Detox Cleaner’ at $24 is a creamy vegan cleanser infused with activated charcoal which cleans pores of toxins and bacteria. The sulfate free “no tears” formula does not irritate eyes, and use this product of you are subject to blemishes and oily skin.

The “Lipisome Antioxidant Moisturizer” at $29 is made for all skin types And is made with a concoction of organic ingredients and lipisomes to transport antioxidants deep into the skin.

The Pumpkin Mask ($34) uses Pumpkin blended with Glycolic Acid and contains proteolytic enzymes, anti-oxidant betacarotene and vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. It exfoliates to remove dead skin and unclogs the pores allowing the skin to breathe. There is a warning however that the side effects of glycolic acid can cause mild irritation and sun sensitivity.

Top of the line and the latest innovation from the company is the KNU Anti-Aging Face Lift Serum priced at $150. Ingredients include Tri Peptides Matrixyl 3000 and Syn-Coll, DMAE, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Arbutin, L-Arginine and a new one to me, Snail Serum. This last one is apparently a natural substance with clinically proven skin regeneration properties.

Lastly the Eye-O-Sonic Ultrasonic Ionic Serum Infuser ($69) which combines ultrasonic waves at 160 oscillations per second plus ion technology to increase the absorption of eye creams and serums into the skin.

Packaging on these products is quite intense, and it takes quite an effort to remove the plastic protective coverage, so be warned.
